We are excited to be hosting Mike Krause of Next Level and Shamrock Wrestling Clubs in a clinic Oct 17-19.  Mike is a nationally recognized youth and club coach who does clinics and camps all over the U.S.  He has been a featured clinician at the Monterey coaches clinic in the past.

For anyone who has seen him, you know he definitely brings the heat!  He has a unique style of teaching that reaches youths of all ages very well.  Check out his website here and take a look at the video and list of credentials below

Click here for an informational flyer and registration form.  Donation amounts are very reasonable.  5 sessions of great technique instruction, plus a scrimmage (for the wrestlers) and Q & A (for coaches and parents) Saturday after the third session.

We are limiting space to the first 75 who register, so get on this while spots are open!  This clinic is for all grades, K-12.

A HUGE congrats goes out to senior Phillip O’shea for dominating the “5 Counties” tournament over the weekend.  Phillip finished in first, with 4 falls and one decision.  After a 4-3 semi-finals upset over Villa Park’s Josh Rus (who defeated O’shea last year at Master’s), Phillip ended with a bang by securing a second period pin in the finals over Damien’s Ian Gust.

A little background about “5 Counties:” it is known as one of the toughest tournaments in the state, if not the nation.  This year there were 94 teams present, 860 wrestlers total.  Many wrestlers from outside the OC came to battle…there were even some out-of-state teams.

You can see Phillip get his finals pin here:

Recently we hosted a youth clinic on Friday Nov 2 for novice wrestlers.  All the kids had fun, and got a lot of good, individual attention from the many coaches and counselors in attendance.  Below are some pictures.
